Rules are always a pain in the butt. Expecially when you have someone making them that never raced or paid for a race car.

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. An understanding tech official always comes in handy. And by the way, they don't cost as much as you might think.

Take for example the pictures below. Basically the rules for the modifieds are a normally aspirated small block with a 7 pounds per cubic inch weight requirement. We have paid off, I mean, we have lobbied tech for us to use the engine you see below. It's simply a less expensive way to go. A 502 cubic in GM with a BDS blower. Now we're talking gas mileage and unusually impressive torque.

All I've GOTTA say is... One has to think like a tech official to race..........
